Delicious Sushi
One of our Okinawa Hai readers sent in this review on Delicious Sushi and I have been very curious about this place since it opened up. Thanks to Rachel for sharing her eating out experience with us!
With all the great sushi places on Okinawa, the choices are certainly abundant. Yet, my friend and I found another great one, just a couple of minutes from Kadena Air Base. Delicious Sushi opened in February of 2009. A special feature with your lunch order is a free soup and salad, with homemade dressing, if you do not take your order to-go.
We had no problem communicating with the owner, Touyama Satoshi, while ordering.
Their extensive menu contains all descriptions of food items in English and the calorie count for each.
We tried a variety of sushi that we had not seen in other places and all our choices lived up to the restaurant's catchy name.
Special Note: 979-5425
Hours: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and 4:30p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Closed on Thursday.
Location: Down the street from Kitakaisen
Directions: From Hwy 58 take Hwy 23 east and make a right at the first signal. This is the same signal you turn at for the Athletic Complex where Kitakaisen is located. Delicious Sushi is on the right hand side, after you make the turn. It faces the side street, on the backside of Capital Steakhouse. If you are coming from Kadena Gate 2, then go one block past Coco Curry house and make a left at the same signal. Once you make the turn, go past the front of the restaurant and the apartment building next door. You will see parking for Delicious Sushi, with labeled spaces, on the right.

As ever the restaurant looks really nice and clean and the owner, cheerful. But I can really not do fish. Love you. Mom

We did this for the restaurant review in the June Oki Living. They also have pastas and appetizers. The tempura ice cream (which is just fried ice cream) was really good too. Most of his sushi rolls are somewhat "healthy", too (between 150 and 500 calories.)

I have been curious about this place - thanks for the review! Oh, do they have high chairs? It looks like there is a baby sitting in one of the pics but it might be a small person! LOL!

This place is great and the owner is very friendly! However, he is usually the only one preparing the food, so be prepared to wait quite a while if someone is ahead of you. It is worth the wait though!

My family tried this place out for lunch today. It was DELICIOUS!! As previously mentioned, the wait was quite long BUT worth it. We have decided to do take out next time, calling our order in ahead. A bonus with take-out, 10% off menu price! Oh, one more thing, there was no soup or salad today served with lunch...so not sure if that was a special for the day or what.

What did you order in this picture...was that one order or a couple of rolls? Looks amazing! Thanks for posting!

My friend and I enjoyed this place very much. We were the only ones there at the time. We both agreed it was kid friendly and there is room so it would be a nice place to have a little luncheon with the ladies. He mentioned edamame was the special and gave it to us for free along with soup and salad (score)A help yourself water cooler which is always nice too. We tried the rice paper roll with shrimp, avocado, cucumber and lettuce..super fresh, yumm with the chili sauce for dippin, the green salad roll and the okinawan roll..all good cant wait to try the green dragon roll, not on the pic of menu. Super freindly owner and he explained the rolls are so big because typically thats what Americans like. They are monstrous and its hard to fit in your mouth but Delish all the same..he gave us a take out menu and cant wait to bring my kids and husband!

Why aren't they ever open!? My husband and I have gone there twice to eat during normal operating hours and they are always closed. I would definitely call before I went because it doesn't seem like the owner ever keeps the place open! Such a shame too because the sushi is really good!

Satoshi usually doesn't open on Thursdays (unless something has changed) so that might your problem. If he's sick, he won't open either since he's a one man shop but I'm very surprised he was closed. He should be open 6 days a week though. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are the best evenings to go in my opinion because it isn't nearly as crowded. Friday is the worst! The nicest owner though, bends over backwards to please. If you become a regular, will hook you up with treats every time you go.
