Sushi. Delicious Sushi. Casey's got a question about all-you-can-eat sushi. Can anyone help out?
I have heard of a great sushi restaurant near the convention center called Liberal. It has all you can eat sushi for about 1100 yen. They give you 50 minutes to eat as much as you can. I cannot find the directions to this place. Do you or anyone you know have an idea of where it is?

I found directions to Liberal off of a now inactive, but still useful Yahoo group, “okinawa restaurants.” http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Okinawa_restaurants/ I am not sure who put this group together, but it has restaurants listed all over the island with many different cuisines. Sometimes the directions are only a Japanese address, but if you’re adventurous, it’s fantstic!
I haven’t had a chance to try Liberal, so let us know how it is.
Here are directions pasted from the site:
Do you know where the Okinawa Convention Center is? As you go past
Foster going south toward Naha. You will have to make a right turn off
of 58. The turn is more of a 45 degree. At the light for the convention
center gate, make a left turn. At the very next intersection make
another left. (Turn left before you get to the light). Liberal will
come up on your right. It is small building with kinda big parking lot
left side of restaurant. Lot will probably be full as it is a very
popular place with the Okinawans. The sign is in English called
Liberal. They open at 1100.
In addition to the sushi they also have a varity of cooked entrees that
change daily from meatloaf, to BBQ beef, to fried shrimp, as well as an
excellent salad bar, desserts and beer on tap (u-serve) again all for
1000 yen.
thanks thats my site! its not inactive, been busy trying new restaurants and haven’t had time to post.
We went here this last weekend and just a couple of comments:
We went expecting all you can eat sushi. We had a time trying to communicate, but it seems like they do have something like that, but for brunch or lunch. There is no English menu, so you will probably want to have a couple of things in mind. We just asked for sushi and they pointed to a section on the menu, so we just ordered one plate per person. The winner was the nagi (eel)and avocado rolls. It comes covered in this delicious sweet teriyaki sauce and lightly drizzled with mayonnaise – delicious! We asked them how to say it, but still couldn’t get it. The building was very nice, there was both tables and chairs and tatami mats. There is a pretty fountain out front with tons of coral in it – very neat.
Prices weren’t bad. We ordered three different sushi plates, one for 650 yen, one for 850 yen, and one for 1250 yen. Oh, and they also had pizza! We could see and smell some of the other food – they were doing something on skewers that smelled amazing. To sum it up – if you can communicate in Japanese or are adventurous, this is a great spot!
